Valenke (“we,” “us,” “our”) operates the Valenke Finance platform. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information when you use our quant trading interview preparation service.

2. Information We Collect

Account Information

  • Email address and display name (provided at registration)
  • Password (stored as a bcrypt hash — we never store or see your plain-text password)

Payment Information

  • Payments are processed by Dodo Payments, our merchant of record
  • We do not store or have direct access to your credit card or bank account details
  • We receive: transaction ID, subscription status, billing cycle dates

Usage Data

  • Practice responses, response times, and performance analytics
  • Ability estimates (theta values) and standard error measurements
  • Firm-tier readiness benchmarks and domain scores
  • Socratic hint interactions and hint chain completion rates
  • Mental math speed and accuracy metrics
  • Session history, streaks, and study plan progress

Technical Data

  • IP address, browser type and version, operating system
  • Device type, screen resolution, referring URL
  • Session duration and page navigation patterns

Cookies

  • We use a single httpOnly cookie for refresh-token authentication
  • We do not use third-party tracking cookies or advertising cookies

3. How We Use Your Information

  • Deliver and personalize the adaptive practice experience
  • Generate readiness reports, domain scores, and firm-tier benchmarks
  • Authenticate your identity and maintain session security
  • Process subscription payments through Dodo Payments
  • Communicate account-related information (billing, security alerts)
  • Detect and prevent fraud or abuse
  • Analyze anonymized, aggregated patterns to improve question quality
  • Comply with legal obligations

4. Information Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with:

  • Dodo Payments: Payment processing (as data processor)
  • Hosting providers: Infrastructure operation (Railway, Vercel)
  • Legal requirements: When required by law, court order, or government request
  • Business transfers: In the event of a merger or acquisition (with prior notice)

5. Data Retention

  • Account data: Retained while your account is active
  • After deletion: Personal data removed within 30 days of account deletion
  • Transaction records: Retained for 7 years (tax and financial compliance)
  • Anonymized data: Retained indefinitely for aggregate analytics

You have the right to:

  • Passwords hashed with bcrypt (12+ salt rounds)
  • Short-lived JWT access tokens with refresh token rotation
  • Refresh token hashes stored in the database (SHA-256)
  • HTTPS enforced on all connections
  • Rate limiting on authentication and payment endpoints
  • Regular security reviews

9. Cookies

We use only essential cookies for authentication and session management. We do not use third-party tracking, analytics, or advertising cookies.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated at least 14 days in advance. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
